At Powerstown we welcome parental involvement and acknowledge that parents have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with us! Children love having different visitors in the class to tell them new and exciting things.
For example last year in Junior Infants parents became involved in;
-Shared Reading -Maths for Fun -Science for Fun -Our Winter Fair -Powerstown's Open Day -Multicultural Week -Our School Garden -Our Community: This was a class theme for a month and lots of different parents came in to talk to the children about their job and the children loved it!
If you think you have anything to add to our class no matter how small, we would love to have you in so please come and speak to me about it! Even if it's simply showing the children how to count to 5 in your native language, or helping out with our new school garden for half an hour!
